Simona.....Lispenard St.

This is Simona, she's a designer and I assume a very good one if her own fabulous look is anything to go by....just gorgeous.

there's a hole in my bucket.

So I just got this jacquard 1930s two piece (rhinestone clasps, matching belt!) for the shop. Must have been blind at the time however as it is RIDDLED with tiny holes. I was a little devastated as it was not an inexpensive piece but can only blame myself for not checking it more at the time. After deciding there's no way it was worth mending I put it on. Holes? who cares! Feel like I'm going to wear both pieces a lot! Why yes I did put it on with the Metallica shirt I was wearing this morning! Metallica's vintage after all.

Tanja.....Bedford Ave

This is Tanja, you can check out her stuff right here. I thought she and her accordian were very beautiful. As I walked away her lovely singing voice filled the subway platform, nice.

Upcoming Details...

Some upcoming 30s and 40s dresses, a little cleaning, little steaming and they'll be in the shop, chose these lovelies because each and every one has a special little detail somewhere....

Every day and not very much.

No idea why I only wear this 40s dress about twice a year. It was completely falling apart when my buddy Adrienne spied it in a Portland vintage shop that was going out of business, had it 'restored' and love it but somehow it seems a bit precious and there's a tiny tear again in the waist so I worry about it when I wear it. Silly. These Victorian bracelets never leave my arm though, vintage constants!

Stalking.

Got out the camera this weekend and feel a little inspired to stalk people and ask for their picture again, or just sneak up behind them of course...that big cardy looks so cosy and a fringed shawl over vintage fur? very nice.

Freddy at the Gala

Love vintage postcards, not just the front but the back also. This one above is so great, those ladies dressed in ties and blazers, looking so darn intellectual while a man ties a shoelace! The card reads "I had a good laugh when I read the account of Freddy at the Gala..." what happened at the Gala? I want to know what this Freddy did! (addressed in 1914). I am essentially just very nosy about times past.

The problem with wearing the stuff in the pics....

This was a slightly awkward pile of creamy ribbon when I found it for the shop, then I put it on for the pics and it's a very sweet pile of lovely well-fitting top. This part is hard isn't it! will file under 'mine' for now.

Walk Like an Egyptian

If there's something I love as much as Victorian goodies it's Ancient Egyptian goodies! When I was a kid, ok and now, I wanted to be an Archaeologist....in the late 90's I was lucky enough to visit and I took this pic below (along with about 300 others), it didn't disappoint and is an incredible place....perhaps the only low point (literally) was at the pyramids when my horse decided to lie down, yes I was on it at the time. The only part I wouldn't want to participate in as an ancient Egyptian would be having my brain scooped out my nose. Pharaoh-cious right?

Leopard Love.

I have NO idea what's happening in these pics and it was in the morning so I hadn't been drinking....but here's 'who' I'm wearing!
top: The Greedy Seagull (big old crush on Giana's shop)
skirt: Rachel Red Lips
tights: Cole Haan
shoes: thrifted.

Out for a stroll....Manhattan Ave

This might sound odd but I wish I'd taken the pic from behind as this cardigan-cape situation looked fab when I was chasing this poor girl up the street...she looks great from the front though too!
