So I gave popsicles a shot and they are great! For these peachy keen ones I simmered fresh peaches, brown sugar, coconut milk, cointreau and orange bitters for around 30 mins.....easy peasy, even this lady on my wall, who never smiles, liked them. Please give me some popsicle ideas if you have any!

(type is too wee so click pics to read clearly!) It always shocks me how much new stuff costs because I never buy it, a single dress when there are 10 more just the same on the rack for $200? Sometimes I like 'costing' a thrifted or vintage outfit just to see how low I can go....aiming for a post with entire outfits for under $10! bet all of you can easily do that with your thrifted wardobes too!

Sometimes people who really can cook inspire you to get in there and do it yourself. Well I will, soon....a friend Kate, cooked another friend Phoebe (above) a wonderful birthday dinner in her Brooklyn backyard, the menu was simple summer market fare; roasted eggplant and cherry tomatoes, potato and squash fritatta, orzo with poached salmon....yum. The icing (cream) on the cake was dessert, 3 individual ice cream sandwiches between ginger cookies with a cocktail of rhubarb, strawberry compote which was then simmered with white white beer and pomegranate soda. amazing. I am attempting that one myself in couple of weeks. Wish me luck, have you dined outside much this summer? bring the bug spray.....

To me the heels on these lovely rich brown shoes look like little buildings. So cool and architectural, I think I squealed a little when I found them in a thrift shop recently, it's so great the way the heels jut out from the main body of the shoe and are not molded to fit...they have lead me to obsess a little about beautiful 1940's shoes...I have a few for the shop but none fit me. This winter I shall find a pair that does!

Frankly I'm worried. I bought (thrifted) a doll. I'm a grown woman and have not bought a doll since I was about 7. But look at this doll! she's two sided and has the coolest feet and sketched outfit. And she's old....very old. I wouldn't be so worried but on the weekend I also got this cat at an estate sale. Cats and dolls. Good god someone put me out of my misery!

I had no idea getting married at city hall would be so fun, waiting around for your number to be called is pretty funny and we had a little party going outside in the waiting area where there are a bunch of couples and their guests mingling, met some lovely people and thoroughly enjoyed every minute...and when I say minute, I really mean ONE minute.....;)
p.s. my 1930's dress was from Angela's lovely shop, greatestfriend on Etsy.
