Horsing about....

I really just want to be Lady Mary. One of the coolest finds this year, for me at least, are these 1940s jodhpurs....such a great colour and shape...complete with worn belt and side buttons! These were purchased from a woman who remembers her mother riding in these during the 1940s. Tally ho!

Today I was super lucky as my sweet friend Phoebe dropped by (with banana cake) and modeled some
fab 40s dresses....when we were done we stumbled across a new bar/cafe in my hood with a wonderful backyard and quartinos of rose....yum! nice day.
Hope these beaded, embellished beauties find some great homes once they are up in the shop (today or tomorrow!)

A mad mad world.

A mostly 60s shop update this weekend with a few other eras thrown in for good measure. Made me miss Don and his philandering ways....but mostly Roger with his outstanding one liners.

if there's one thing NYC does well it's a store front! I would so love one myself but unfortunately these store fronts come at a very high price...nice to look at though!

making a splash

Years ago one of my first jobs in NYC was with this fab Australian company Dinosaur Designs , everything is handmade, everything. It is resin poured into a mold, each colour poured over the other...every single piece is unique....it's super cool. This past weekend they held a sample sale and I happily helped out pouring champagne for shoppers....my friend Phoebe helped also, check out those tights she's wearing! (this woman has more tights than Imelda had shoes)

I got the blues....mostly the navy blues. No idea how I ended up with so much but there's enough for another blue update next month....fall is sure gonna be blue.

how to de-stress

So....this week has really been up there on the old stress scale. Today is the day I hand over documents for my green card and a LOT of money (and blood tests!). It's super exciting after years of different visas and I am so glad to be doing it...however, boy is it stressful. Also in just 2.5 weeks I am leaving my job of 6 years, it feels fantastic and so frightening too, I am waking up every morning with the fear of $, or lack thereof, but I HAVE to do it. I think I will be ok, this vintage biz has me hooked, line and sinker...or however that goes. So today I de-stressed by meeting 2 fave gal pals for brunch, a good laugh, good eats and my friends skirt covered in hearts made me feel all better. No alcohol required! (well it was morning) :)
