National Velvet
I confess I haven't watched National Velvet, just bumped it up the Netflix queue though! I scored this sweet 1960s paper doll set in a recent vintage buy, it came with a Marilyn Monroe, 1920s and Victorian set....not sure what I'll do with them but I have such a soft spot for paper dolls...used to spend hours making them when I was a kid. This National Velvet set is almost untouched, just a couple of pieces of clothing were cut out, little Liz Taylor! what should I do with this sweet thing?

Flowers and Grapes
I found this sweet hat yesterday and was pretty pleased to find my name inside! I thought it was so over the top in a flora fauna kind of way that it needed these enormous grape cluster 60s earrings! hat to be listed shortly....feels like a bird might nest on my head....or a bee.

Close but no cigar.
So last weekend I did a very 'cold' cull of my own wardrobe....I figured "hell I don't have a job I don't need pencil skirts!"....& I just was a bit sick of this 40s blouse. Who gets sick of a 1940s blouse for godsake. No. One. When I popped these 2 on for shop pics (figured another lass might love 'em), I realized that both are awesome and I should get a life.....it's not like working from home means I can't get dressed right?......right?
*booties I bought on Etsy couple weeks back, still wearing these puppies in, ouch.
**bottom pics blurry because I have yet to master self timer on my fancy ass new camera!

Spidey.
Love me some Victorian...I have so many 'un-wearable' Victorian pieces that just hang there looking lovely but are way too fragile to wear. Last weekend I was super pleased to find this sweet jacket, when I got it home I found it already had an owner....a spider had a wee home right in the folds. Unfortunately he was evicted....the jacket is indeed wearable and will be listed, it is however for a very small person, my shoulders are rather hunched in this pic and I need to hand-stitch a seam separation made a little bigger when I popped it on....oops. Those 19th century ladies sure were small.

Tooling about.
A two day buying spree with friends Phoebe and Kate yielded many a tooled delight as well as some rather bizarre buying experiences....they are more for one on one than public forum though....let's just say that single shoe has a mate in that barn but we couldn't get to it.....
Just love these gorgeous 1970s tooled bags and so happy to have found so many in one go! other faves this trip are these kinda fantastic antique boots, completely wearable and freshly conditioned with my new leather cream from Australia (same place Phoebe and Kate are from).....the sweet bird was from the hat collection of a jazz singer who unloaded her "hat" estate into an antique spot that I visited.....
Bags should be coming to the shop over next couple weeks and the single shoe may just find a home on my shelf for lonely goodies.

marketing.
So very excited to have a booth with Giana of Greedy Seagull at the Artists and Fleas market in Brooklyn. We just had our first weekend, no heat wave and no hurricanes though the L train was down. Always gotta be something right!? Thank you to our friends who stopped by to support us, we are really looking forward to fall in our super spot! This Thursday night, the 8th, we shall be re-merchandising, handing out a little vino and treats and just generally enjoying NY's Fashion Night Out, come join us!
